Harrow Business Bowler Golf Day 2012

Businesses across the North East this month donned their bowler hats for a unique golf day in aid of St Oswald’s.

25 teams of four entered the second annual Business Bowler Golf Day, a corporate take on the popular Trilby Tour golf challenge, on 26th September, which raised around £3000 for the Hospice.

Hosted by North East building surveying consultancy Harrow Consulting LLP, at the Tyneside Golf Club in Ryton, the day included 18 holes of golf, a buffet meal, a range of prizes, and the provision of a bowler hat for each player to wear during their round.

Harrow Consulting LLP Partner Graeme Harker said:

“Last year’s event was such a success that we were asked to hold it again by many in the business community who enjoyed the day.  We are hoping to make it the largest corporate golf day in the North East business calendar, hopefully turning it into a Pro-Am event next year.  The day is a fun way to revive an old traditional whilst raising money for a great cause at the same time.”

St Oswald’s fundraiser Dorothy Alderton said:

“We are thrilled that Harrow Consulting LLP have chosen to support St Oswald’s in this unique way.  We rely on the generosity of our supporters and corporate events such as golf days help us to continue providing specialist care for children, young people and adults from across the North East.”
