Harrow Consulting LLP wins Darlington College contract

Newcastle building surveying consultancy Harrow LLP has won a long-term contract to design and develop facilities at Darlington College.

Work is already underway to redesign the ground floor of the main Catterick campus building, to add a new IT suite, painting and decorating workshop, and shower and changing facilities.  Similar extensions are planned at the Darlington campus to increase the size of facilities available for industrial and vocational courses such as joinery, plastering and engineering.

Harrow, which celebrates its first anniversary this year, has already worked with Darlington College on three previous projects, including the refurbishment of the salons used by its health and beauty students.

The company also developed a classroom-style ‘lecturette’ inside one of its workshops, and designed the college’s new Glasshouse restaurant, which accommodates about 70 covers and which can be used for private functions or dinners as well as an everyday venue for students.

Harrow founder Nick Rowling said: “Things are looking positive as we move into our second year, with a good pipeline of commercial opportunities to add to the work we’ve already secured, and our aim is to keep growing organically as the market continues to recover.”
